Be a part of the Traveling M2R Fence Art Gallery along the M2R Trail, showcasing high resolution, printed images of original works of art from artists and photographers. Participate in this massive, exciting public art display that debuts in Downtown Marietta before traveling to cities in Cobb County throughout 2025 and 2026.

SHOW DETAILS:
This is a juried competition, showcasing Fine Art and Photographic images, as well as the student gallery.
The exhibition is open to all artists, regardless of location. Only digital files need to be submitted.
Each selected image will be printed on its own white PVC panel and attached to the fence.
Printed images may be color or black & white.
Panel is 3mm thick; size is 30” x 40” and can be either portrait or landscape orientation.
One image is permitted per panel and will include image title and artist attribute.
Nonrefundable entry fee is $40 per entrant; maximum 4 images per entry. All artists are invited to apply.
K-12 Student Artist entry is free; maximum 4 images per student. Current school that student is attending must be listed.
Companion on-line catalog to include artist and artwork details as well as contact/purchasing information, if desired.
Exhibit will be on display from May 3 – July 5, 2026 in Downtown Marietta
The fence gallery will travel to participating cities in Cobb County following the end of the show in Marietta for 30 day exhibitions. Following the final exhibition, artists may have the opportunity to pick up the panels featuring their artwork. Due to the nature of the traveling and outdoor show, panels may experience some wear and tear.
ART & PHOTOGRAPHY CATEGORIES:
Fine Art: Any reproducible 2D mediums of artwork, including works depicting landscapes, night, people, places, nature, abstracts, etc.
Photography: Digital or film, b&w or color of artwork, including works depicting landscapes, night, people, places, nature, abstracts, macro
Please note: All works must follow the guidelines for public art as set by the City of Marietta. No sexually explicit nudity, foul language, or violent imagery will be accepted as part of the fence gallery. Read the City of Marietta's guidelines on public art here.
CALENDAR:
Digital Art Submission Deadline: midnight, 3/23
Notification of Art selection: 4/28
Panel Installation: 5/3
Fence Art Gallery Exhibit dates: 5/3-7/5
Deinstallation: 7/5
Please note that artwork will travel throughout Cobb County in 2025 through 2026, so panels will not be available to be returned to the artist until the end of the entire traveling show
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Only digital images of your original artwork are needed to participate in this exhibition! Each image will be printed on PVC panels for outdoor display
Accepted file format: .jpg
Save the JPG “quality” at the “maximum” setting
Save image profile to sRGB
Resolution: 300 pixels per inch
Only high resolution, sized to print images will be considered
Portrait Image Sizes:
Minimum size should be 6000 (20 inches) pixels on the longest side.
Maximum size should be 10200 pixels (34 inches) on the longest side.
Landscape Image Sizes:
Minimum size should be 9000 pixels (30 inches) on the longest side.
Maximum size should be 11,100 pixels (37 inches) on the longest side.

Each image should be labeled with your name and title, i.e.
FirstName_LastName_Title.jpg.
The label should correspond with the title in the application form.
Watermarked images will not be considered.

PLEASE NOTE: The Marietta Arts Council maintains the right to reject submission based on subject matter and art/ image quality.
*Due to the nature of the traveling and outdoor exhibition, panels may become damaged or aged over time. Panels may be reprinted between exhibitions in cases of extreme damage, but will not be available to be reprinted at the end of the final show.
Due to space constraints, there is no guarantee that all artwork panels will be on display in every city participating in the traveling fence gallery, except in Marietta. Locations for each city’s show are subject to change. Information about panel pickup location will become available closer to the date of the show’s end.
